Thrilled to share a recent triumph of our OMA member Pickfords with their client, East Lindsey District Council, in their seamless transition from the historic Tedder Hall to the vibrant ‘Hub’ in Horncastle.

Background

East Lindsey District Council, a local government authority in Lincolnshire, embarked on an office relocation project after two decades at Tedder Hall – a listed historic site.

Requirement

The move to ‘The Hub,’ a modern eco-friendly space, necessitated new office furniture. Existing pieces, aged two decades, needed environmentally friendly disposal, making recycling the optimal choice.

Solution

Pickfords was appointed to manage the 12-mile relocation, a meticulous three-month phased plan unfolded from November to January. This included moving paper files, relocating securely, and clearing existing furniture.

Highlights
  • Meticulous planning ensured smooth execution without disrupting Council services.
  • Accessibility to live files maintained throughout the project.
  • Unwanted furniture recycled or reused, aligning with environmental policies.
  • Historical items auctioned online through the collaboration with Ramco.
Health & Safety

All Pickfords staff adhered to Council site rules, prioritizing a secure work environment for this intricate project.

Summary

Commencing in mid-November, the relocation concluded with all staff comfortably settled in by Christmas. Live records remained accessible, and the Council’s commitment to environmental responsibility was upheld, thanks to Pickfords’ recycling initiatives.
