Norturaz
Norway’s leading company in meat and egg production, Nortura, has recently relocated its headquarters to impressive new premises in the heart of Oslo. This strategic decision has placed Nortura in a historic building that has undergone extensive rehabilitation to offer modern and space-efficient office facilities.
First Mover Group served as Nortura’s project manager from the lease contract signing until the move-in. We provided services in technical and strategic advisory, procurement, delivery coordination, assembly, and relocation.
From lease contract signing to the successful relocation, we led the project team consisting of both internal and external resources. Our role included comprehensive procurement consulting, ensuring the project met strict financial targets.
We also managed negotiations related to the termination of the previous lease, ensuring a seamless transition.
Through practical and strategic environmental consulting, we achieved an impressive reuse rate of nearly 100%, contributing to the project’s sustainability goals.
FMG provided advice on building technology, planning, workplace concepts, and mapping of reusable furniture. The interior design concept was unconventional and exciting, as several pieces of furniture were reupholstered using Nortura’s own production of leather, hide, and fur. This highlighted the principle of utilizing the whole animal, creating a storytelling element in the interior design while focusing on sustainability and tradition.
“FMG has assisted us in an excellent manner. Both internal and external processes have been handled professionally and efficiently. I do not believe we would be where we are today without FMG.”
– Mads Unneberg, Eiendomssjef Nortura
EY
In the summer of 2023, when EY needed to vacate and decommission its premises at Dronning Eufemias gate 6 and relocate to Stortorvet 7, they chose FMG as their partner for move planning, project management, logistics, and decommissioning.
EY has a strong environmental profile and worked throughout the relocation and decommissioning process to achieve the highest possible reuse rate. Through resale and collaboration with the client, furniture buyers, and AV suppliers, we ensured the reduction of 676 tons of CO2 emissions from furniture and IT equipment. The reuse rate reached 83%, with a large portion of furniture either repurposed at the new location or resold.
FMG provided the following services for the project:
- Planning, preparation, and other relevant pre-move activities
- Coordination with the client and suppliers
- Protection of elevators and vulnerable interiors
- Relocation of boxes, furniture, and equipment
- Dismantling and reassembly of furniture
- Archive relocation
- Waste disposal
- Resale or donation of unutilized assets
Oslo Municipality – Oslobygg KFY
Oslobygg KF is a municipal enterprise owned by Oslo Municipality, responsible for developing, constructing, operating, and maintaining public buildings. In autumn 2024, Oslobygg relocated to new office premises, and FMG assisted in this process.
Oslobygg KF relocated from three locations to a new headquarters at Grenseveien 82. The project involved moving furniture, computers/screens, personal belongings, and shared-area equipment such as kitchenware and office supplies.
The move was completed within a short timeframe to minimize downtime for employees.
“We have experienced a professional and well-executed collaboration, not only with the project managers but also with the various specialists involved, such as assemblers and movers. Everyone has been friendly and solution oriented. The service level has been exceptional, exceeding our expectations. Despite relocating thousands of items, nothing was damaged during the process, which we attribute to FMG’s meticulous planning, padding, and packaging efforts. Their work has been characterized by thoroughness, and they have proactively identified and corrected errors. As a client, we have appreciated FMG’s proactive approach and risk management focus throughout the process. Based on our experience, we highly recommend FMG for similar projects.” – Grete Ringnes
