Niemi Services electrifies Northern Finland – our new truck, Eleni, is the first hybrid truck north of the Arctic Circle.
The truck is stationed at our newest office in Rovaniemi (about 850 kilometers north from Helsinki) and therefore we can now test the hybrid truck in extreme conditions (long distances, lack of charging infrastructure, and the cold of winter).
This is a step in electrifying long-haul transportation in the north – our goal is to be a pioneer in electrifying truck transportation and to have zero-emission fleet by 2030.
The hybrid trucks travels approximately 70 km on electricity, and for the rest of the journey, it runs fossil-free on renewable diesel.
We are also introducing our own high-power charging station to ensure the quality and speed of charging.
